is a small town situated in the centre of Poland.
It is very famous for its railway station which is modernized at the moment. Koluszki has got about 13,500 inhabitants. Near Koluszki there is a big city Łódź which is called the city of four cultures - Jewish, German, Russian and Polish.
Gimnazjum No 2 in Koluszki was created in 1999. The school is named after Stefan Kardynał Wyszyński who was the primate of millennium. At the beginning the school shared the building with the Primary School Nr 2, but in 2001 the school moved to a new place at Mickiewicz street. The building is modern and the students have lessons in big and clean classrooms. There are three ICT rooms, a local library, a canteen and a small gymnasium. The youth has a possibility to play various sports in a local gym. In Gimnazjum No 2 there are 267 pupils nowadays (118 girls and 149 boys) and 25 teachers who are employed as a full time job workers. Teenagers are taught on one shift, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. After the lessons students can have an opportunity to improve their knowledge in a lot of Clubs and Societies.
Our pupils can also participate in works of students council which is a very important organization in the school. Learning foreign languages is the main priority of Gimnazjum No 2. The youth can take part in many language competitions, festivals of German and British music and drama classes. Gimnazjum No 2 in Koluszki was honoured with the Certification Mark “Szkoła z klasą” (2005) and some of our teachers gained the title of “nauczyciel z klasą” (2006). In the year 2008 our school got an eTwinning Quality Label for the project Two traditions, two cultures, two countries, but this is still the same Europe which was realized with the school from Slovakia.
Among the pupils of Gimnazjum No 2 there are laureates and finalists of provincial subject competitions.
